Picnic time is almost here

Spring is finally here and we're glad to be spending a little more time outdoors.  Picnics are one of our favourite things about the lighter, warmer spring and summer months and we have been imagining what our dream picnic would involve.

A Greater Freedom: Hepworth 1965 - 1975

Hepworth has been a big influence on our design style and we love the organic shapes found in her work. We went to see the exhibition A Greater Freedom at The Hepworth Gallery which is running alongside the in house permanent collection of her sculptures as well as a selection of drawings and tools. The exhibition is on until April and follows developments in the artists later years, showing some of her more experimental works in bronze, slate and printmaking.

Exhibition runs April 2015 - April 2016.  Click here for more info.

2015 so far...

We can't believe we are half way through February already.

We have been keeping our heads down and working hard on developing some new designs, tweaking a few old ones and testing prints. All this alongside creating new promotion materials, packaging and product photographs has kept us busy which is why we have been a little quiet so far.  We're very excited to show you what we have been working on very soon but for now here's a little peak...

Open studios

We had a great day meeting people at our Open Studios in Glasgow. We also had time to print some new stock,  Here is peep at our new napkin collection, available soon...

Tania Kovats - Oceans

If your going to be in Edinburgh from now until the 25th May the Tania Kovats exhibition at the Fruitmarket gallery is really worth going to see!

The exhibition focuses on Tanias fascination with the sea, this is something we really identify with! Combining instillations, drawings, sculptures and time based projects it is a varied and interesting look at the worlds oceans.  One of the favourite pieces there has to be sea water collected from all over the world (365 samples to be precise) displayed side by side in glass bottles.  Incredible to think how separate yet connected all this water is!

The book connected to the exhibition is also wonderful, very happy to own a copy…

Wind paintings

I have been whiling away the hours browsing some of my favourite blogs and found these beautiful wind paintings by Bob Verschueren.  I thought they were the perfect thing to share with you on this blustery afternoon!
